Our Practice
The office of David J. Farinacci, DDS was established in August, 1980. Five years later, we moved the practice to our current location – 1225 South Main Street, North Canton, Ohio – which we still consider the “New Office.” Two of the first three employees hired by Dr. Farinacci are still with us. The third remains a patient.
Our purpose is to provide a professional yet warm and caring environment where quality dentistry and personal interactions can be enjoyed by patients and staff. By motivating and educating our patients, we want to instill the importance of dental health and enable our patients to achieve and maintain this high level of health.
Meet Our General Dentist, David J. Farinacci, DDS
Serving patients from North Canton and Akron, Ohio, David J. Farinacci, DDS is a talented general dentist with skilled hands, a friendly approach, and a comforting chairside manner. He has been helping people improve the health and beauty of their smiles for two-and-a-half decades. After graduating from Kent State University in 1977 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Zoology, he received his degree in dental surgery from Ohio State University in 1980. Dr. Farinacci was recently honored with the distinction "America's Top Dentist" by the Consumer's Research Council — the second time in as many years he's been given this award.
Memberships and Organizations
Dr. Farinacci has been very active in the American Dental Association’s numerous outreach programs. He was a member of the ADA’s Alaskan Task Force and currently serves the ADA as part of the national advisory group for GKAS! Day. GKAS, or Give Kids a Smile, brings dental services to over a million under-served children a year. The Alaskan Task Force seeks to address the demand for oral health care services among the native population of Alaska. In the past, Dr. Farinacci has served on the ADA’s Council on Communications, and as its Chair in 2005–2006. The Council of Communications is an agency dedicated to promoting and conveying information on oral health care issues to the public, ADA members, and the health care community.
Dr. Farinacci is also a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an international honorary dental organization recognizing the achievements of outstanding dentists. The Academy, through both ethical and moral practice, supports the highest ideals of dentistry. He is also a member of the International College of Dentists, an organization of the world's outstanding members of dentistry dedicated to advancing the science and art of dentistry for the health and welfare of the public.
Personal Interests
As a dedicated member of the North Canton, Ohio community, he has been a member of the Faith United Methodist Church since 1982, and in 1998–2000 was a member of the strategic planning committee for North Canton city schools. He and his wife Susan, an elementary school teacher, have four children.
Meet Our Dental Team
Kim
Kim graduated from Akron Medical-Dental Institute in 1982. She has 24 years of experience as a dental assistant. Prior to working in North Canton with general dentist David Farinacci, Kim worked in a periodontal office, learning surgical techniques and the dental implant procedure. Kim has been with Dr. Farinacci for 10 years.
Maureen
Maureen graduated with a degree in dental hygiene from Youngstown State University in 1983. She was a dental assistant prior to her career in dental hygiene. Over the 23 years Maureen has worked with Dr. Farinacci, she has cultivated numerous lasting relationships with her patients. Maureen enjoys golfing and hiking, and is also an extremely enthusiastic member of the Parrot Head Club.
Alicia
Alicia is a 1997 graduate of Kent State University, where she received her Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in Marketing. Alicia joined Dr. Farinacci’s team seven years ago as the financial coordinator. Alicia enjoys being outdoors as much as possible and loves working in her flower gardens and swimming.
Michelle
Michelle graduated from Akron Medical-Dental Institute in 1986. Upon graduation she went directly to work as a dental assistant with two other doctors, whom she saw through to retirement. She then met Dr. Farinacci, with whom she has worked for the past 12 years. Michelle and her family get great enjoyment from their active participation in the 4-H Clubs of Stark County. Michelle is also very active in the family business, Maxhimer Stock Farms.
Rachelle
A graduate of Hoover High School, Rachelle has been with Dr. Farinacci since 2004. She is currently working towards a degree in Dental Hygiene at Stark State College of Technology. Prior to working for Dr. Farinacci, Rachelle worked in both a pediatric and an orthodontic dental office.
Sue
Sue graduated from Hoover High School, right here in North Canton, Ohio. She was a member of the vocational program which equipped her for her career in dental assisting. She also underwent on-the-job training with Dr. Farinacci prior to graduation and has been employed by him ever since. For over 25 years Sue and her family have taken annual trips to Stoney Lake, one of her greatest pleasures.
